Newly published information from Lifeway Research shows 77% of self-identified Christians in dozens of states think it’s a sin to lend money to someone who can’t afford to pay it back. Still, few say payday loans are immoral and one in six Christians have admitted to taking out a high-interest payday loan.
The federal government’s Consumer Financial Protection Bureau says the typical two-week payday loan charges the equivalent of a 400% interest rate.
These “sharks” prey on the poor, elderly, and most vulnerable in society.
Sound the alarm and make sure your family, church, and neighborhood steer clear of this vermin.

David’s battle with Goliath is an epic drama where the little boy stands in God’s power to conquer the Philistine giant.
David didn’t awaken that morning expecting to slay a giant. He didn’t stroll in with an entourage after a rugged mountain range training camp like Rocky in Rocky IV. He was just a regular kid bringing his brothers’ lunch. But fully confident in God’s immeasurable power, though he saw Goliath, David never acknowledged him as a giant, saying, “Who is this uncircumcised Philistine who dares defy the Lord of hosts?”
When regular people are fully persuaded, fully confident in God’s power, giant’s fall.
“Always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for the reason for the hope that is in you.”
Many who oppose Christianity target their hostility on our foundation, the Bible. They say it is unreliable because Genesis one and Genesis two are contradictory accounts of the creation story.
In actuality, the two chapters are complimentary and not contradictory.
When Jesus was asked about marriage, He quoted from both chapters one and two, saying that He made them both to be male and female in the beginning. "And for this cause shall a man leave his mother and father and cleave unto his wife."
Genesis one is an overview of the creation story and Genesis two is an up close examination of day six. If Jesus relies on them both, so can we.
The only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing.

What is the proper role of government?
Romans chapter 13 outlines government's function, and it is basically this: to restrain or punish wickedness and to reward righteousness.
Government was never intended to be our savior. Government is our servant.
As we focus on our civil occupations and our civic engagement responsibilities, let us never forget that government is not our God. We don't put our trust in it. We put our trust in our Christ.
As a result, what we want is a government that stays out of our way and leaves room for our church to do our business of fulfilling the great commission.

Two off-duty Marines assigned to the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit were assaulted by an anti-American group of men on a busy street in Turkey. The group, who calls themselves the Turkish Youth Union, recorded video of the assault in which they forced a bag over one of the Marine’s heads, and posted it in social media.
The Marines were on a regularly scheduled port visit to Izmir, Turkey. Thankfully, they’re safe now and were uninjured.
Do you think this kind of thing would happen if the U.S. was respected on the world stage?

Apostle Paul penned these words while instructing Believers how to navigate anxiety. Much of what befalls us in terms mental or emotional distress usually stems from us, at some point, believing a lie.
That’s why the Apostle’s words here are so vital. As Believers, we have the unique ability to set our minds and emotions and not be set by them.
The LORD’s mental health prescription is to set our minds on what’s true. Feast on what’s true.

Virginia Lt. Governor Winsome Sears has filed paperwork to run for governor of her state in 2025. Sears’s paperwork was accepted by Virginia’s Department of Elections.
She and current VA Governor Glenn Youngkin made waves in the political universe when they flipped the blue-leaning state one year after Mr. Biden became the oval office occupant.
Youngkin is term-limited, but he worked with Sears to focus their campaign on parents’ rights in education, zeroing in on curricula in government schooling indoctrination camps.
For many Virginians, Winsome Sears’s pursuit of the Governorship is a heartily welcomed announcement.

Former FBI Officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page, the adulteress lovers who ran the Russiagate investigation and were busted sending text messages between them about how much they hated President Trump and their “insurance policy” to keep him from being elected, sued the DOJ for unlawful disclosure of the their text messages.
And get this, the DOJ has now entered a financial settlement with them. The Deep State covers for the Deep State. You conduct the false Russia-collusion delusion against a sitting president and ultimately end up getting paid for the work. Despicable!

When discussing Kamala Harris’s changing positions on things like “Medicare for All” and banning fracking, Bernie Sanders was asked whether it showed that she’s abandoning her regressive ideals.
Bernie responded,
No, I don’t think she’s abandoning her ideals. I think she’s trying to be pragmatic and doing what she thinks is right in order to win the election.
He said this on national television. What Bernie Sanders describes as electoral pragmatism, is what normal people call lying.

Dr. George Barna’s American Worldview Inventory has revealed results that are tremendously troubling. His research indicates that Evangelicals are more likely to be shaped by the prevalent American culture than to influence it.
Instead of being salt and light, Dr. Barna’s study indicates, that being lightly salted is the more likely reality. This proves what I’ve said repeatedly. America greatest and most desperate need is repentance. That work, the work of repentance, must start with the people of God.
Our nation needs revival, but the revival must start in our own hearts, our homes, and our churches.

Imagine your 7-year-old is on the school bus, heading home, at the end of the day. The school bus stops on its normal route but a group of about 20 illegal aliens try to board your child’s school bus. This is exactly what happened on not one, but two school buses in the Dulzura Union School District in southern California.
Thankfully, no one was injured during this incident, but the parents have now been warned they may have to pick their children up from stops further away to avoid more illegal alien encounters… “for the safety of students and bus drivers.”

Aurora, CO Mayor Mike Coffman confirmed that Venezuelan gangs have taken over several apartment complexes, forced the property managers out to extort rent money directly from the tenants, and have been given the green light to attack local CO police officers who dare attempt to stop their reign of terror.
Mayor Coffman also explained that the federal government went around the local government to place Venezuelan immigrants in his city without his knowledge. He directly blamed the Harris-Biden administration for creating this chaos in his city.

Linda Sun, former Deputy Chief of Staff to NY Governor Kathy Hochul, and Sun’s husband, Chris Hu, were arrested and charged for being covert agents for the communist Chinese government. Sun her husband were indicted for secretly working to advance the CCP agenda through high level government work and contacts in NY.
This is the latest instance of people literally working for red China through American governmental connections. Linda Sun and Chris Hu’s arrests remind me of emails discussing a $5 million deal with China, setting certain amounts aside “for the big guy."

Every four years, prior to the presidential elections, we are inundated with screeds decrying the United States Constitution, like the New York Times recent piece saying our founding legal document “is dangerous.” The contempt usually boils to down to some combination of it being too hard to amend and power too diffused. When you understand the fallen nature of man, as our Founders did, that’s kinda the point.
Make no mistake about it, these complaints about the Constitution are nothing more than a thinly veiled pretext for totalitarian preference. They hate our constitution because that hate individual liberty.
What is the source of America's greatness? Alexis de Tocqueville, a 19th century French political thinker and philosopher, had this exact same question.

On the heels of the French Revolution, he came to America in 1831 to investigate America's ascendency. In doing so, he found that America's greatness did not lie in her economic system. It did not lie in her banking system. Nor did it lie in her educational system.
He found that America's pulpits, aflamed with righteousness, was the source of America's greatness. He opined that America is great because she is good, but when America ceases to be good, she will cease to be great.
Let us pray for restoration of the flame of righteousness in our pulpits.

Recently I heard a statement that went like this, “I don’t think principles matter if you can’t get elected.”
Principles form the core of who you are. Principles form the foundation of a civil society.
George Washington in his farewell address identified religion and morality as indispensable supports.
“In vain would that man claim the tribute of patriotism who should labor to subvert these great pillars of human happiness,” George Washington said.
It makes me think of a scripture. “What would it profit a man to gain the whole world yet lose his soul?”
What would it profit a man to gain an election yet lose his principles?
“And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” Romans 12:2(a) (NASB95).

The LORD warned us that the last days would be evinced by the ubiquity of pernicious deception. Discernment is not an optional quality to retain. When Paul wrote to Christians in Rome, he exhorted Believers to refuse to conform to the world around them. Rather, be transformed by the renewing of our minds.
He continued, transformation whilst resisting worldly conformation was vital to knowing God’s will. Reverend Charles Spurgeon said, “discernment isn’t merely distinguishing right from wrong, it includes distinguishing right from almost right.”
Sharp discernment is one of the benefits of living holy, set apart, lives.
“Where will you be stricken again, As you continue in your rebellion? The whole head is sick And the whole heart is faint.” Isaiah 1:5 (NASB95).

Kamala Harris thinks so highly of the American people that she’s refused to do any interviews, except for the pre-recorded joint interview on CNN, and she’s refused to articulate her policies to the American people.
In fact, one her surrogates has admitted that she “trusts journalists to explain her policies for her.” They find that to be a winning strategy.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, Regressives despise the American people. Accountability and constitutional fidelity are impediments to their craven lust for power.

Arizona passed an election integrity law in 2022 that simply said in order to register to vote registrants have to demonstrate that they are U.S. citizens and that voters must prove citizenship in order to vote by mail. A group called Mi Familia Vota sued to prevent the law from taking effect.
The Unites States Supreme Court upheld the voter registration portion of AZ’s law by a 5-4 vote. This case demonstrates the thin edge our nation is teetering on currently. Limiting the voting franchise to U.S. citizens has become controversial.
