Article 1, section 3 of the U.S. Constitution says when the “President of the United States is tried” for impeachment, “the Chief Justice SHALL preside…”

That sentence reveals the sheer unconstitutionality of this impeachment trial charade. If the proceedings were legitimate, Chief Justice John Roberts must preside, just as he did in early 2020.

Article 1, section 3 also says you cannot consider disqualification from future office where you cannot apply the “removal from office” sanction.

Simply put, this impeachment trial is nothing more than unconstitutional political  theater further deepening our national polarization.
