Thanks to State Senator Angela Hill, who authored and fought tirelessly for the bill, Mississippi has become the first state in the U.S. in 2021 to enact a law that prohibits males who identify themselves as females from competing against girls in public school sports in the state.
The Mississippi Fairness Act was passed by the state legislature and signed into law by the state’s governor and it will apply to public K-12 schools as well as colleges and universities.
