“Jabez was more honorable than his brothers; and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, ‘Because I bore him in pain.’” 2 Timothy 3:13 (KJV)
Here you a have mother languishing in terrible circumstances. Times were so difficult she even considered her own son to be a burden.
Not only that, she named the boy “sorrowful" or “pain” because she saw his birth as another set back.
But the scripture shows us, though the boy was born into less than ideal circumstances he zoomed beyond predetermined expectations.
Regardless of the conditions you’re born into God can empower you to transcend your environment. Though his mother called him “pain,” God called him honorable.
