In addition to discovering $500 Billion in accounting errors at HUD, Dr. Ben Carson has made another major move.
Using an ignored 1968 law Dr. Carson will require contractors who build HUD funded projects to hire people from the very communities to do the work.
The projects are announced well in advance, which provides sufficient time to train and employ people from those neighborhoods.
Dr. Carson said, that way we aren’t just getting people into public housing. We’re equipping them with the tools to get out of it.
